{"id":29,"date":"2012-03-24T10:25:54","date_gmt":"2012-03-24T09:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sites.fusion.ciemat.es\/eps\/?page_id=29"},"modified":"2025-10-07T10:41:46","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T09:41:46","slug":"landau-spitzer-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/plasma.ciemat.es\/eps\/awards\/landau-spitzer-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Landau-Spitzer Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>The Landau-Spitzer Award on the Physics of Plasmas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Landau-Spitzer Award on the Physics of Plasmas for &#8220;Outstanding contributions to plasma physics&#8221; is jointly sponsored by the Plasma Physics Divisions of the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aps.org\/programs\/honors\/awards\/landau-spitzer.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Physical Society<\/a><\/strong> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eps.org\"><strong>European Physical Society<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Award is given to an individual or group of researchers for outstanding theoretical, experimental or technical contribution(s) in plasma physics and for advancing the collaboration and unity between Europe and the USA by joint research or research that advances knowledge which benefits the two communities in a unique way. The award may be given to a team or collaboration of up to four persons affiliated with either the European or US institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Nominations for the 2026 Landau-Spitzer Award will open on January 1 2026 and close on April 1 2026.
